To quote Robert Novak: Patrick Fitzgerald "determined that no federal statute was broken when then-Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage revealed that Valerie Plame Wilson, the wife of Bush critic Joseph Wilson, worked for the CIA. But Fitzgerald prosecuted Libby for allegedly not telling the truth in the course of the investigation."
When is Fitzgerald going to be investigated for withholding evidence and obstructing justice? He knew almost immediately who had outed undercover CIA file clerk Valerie Plame, but he held that knowledge back so as to continue his "investigation." What was he investigating? He threw a NY Times reporter into jail in the case, for Pete's sake! This rogue power-mad autocrat has to be punished, to show other jurists they can't turn the justice system into their own personal toy!
And did you see the Clintons' statements about Bush's commutation of Libby? The statements were nearly identical, and they were both detached from reality! Both Clintons, those latter-day Snopses, reiterated the discredited, disproved paranoid accusations made by Democrats throughout the course of the mock investigation -- that the White House leaked the info to punish Joe Wilson, that Libby lied about his role, that Joe Wilson unearthed "lies," yadda, yadda, yadda.
Those two creatures (the Clintons) are literally insane; nothing has penetrated their brains during the investigation. They have a melodramatic picture in their minds of evil Republicans in black capes like Snidely Whiplash, being fought by noble, pure Dudley Doright-style Democrats -- and that is the fantasy picture the Clintons cling to. Reality cannot impinge on their mentalities, and I call that real, literal insanity.
